Responsibilities
1. Baggage Check-in Counter
- Greet and address passenger at counter with "Good Morning Sir/Madam."
- Request and conduct passenger ‘s travel documents/Boarding pass verification
- Check-In Pax Baggage/Item under SPOS Baggage Check-In module using pax boarding pass.
- Weigh the bag/item for excess kg. Collect excess baggage charges.
- Tag baggage/Item with Baggage Sticker & Destination Colour Code accordingly.
- Provide left luggage services.
- End the service by "Thank You Sir/Madam” and direct passenger to turnstile to exit if possible.
2. Passenger Handling at Boarding Gate/Pontoon
Pre-Boarding
- Radio CCC for ferry location & estimated time of arrival
- Execute pre-boarding SOPs for any late arrival ferry of more than 15 mins from schedule timing.
Pax / Baggage Reconciliation
- Verify the number of baggage transferred to vessel against baggage manifest.
- Prepare two copies of baggage manifest for baggage reconciliation with Ferry Master.
- Ensure both copies of baggage manifest are signed off by Ferry Master
Boarding Clearance
- Radio staff at jetty to check with Ferry crew for boarding clearance.
- Update trip status in SPOS Boarding Module to ‘Boarding’, to commence boarding when ferry is ready for boarding.
Boarding Handling
- Guide passengers to queue in two single files at turnstile.
- Carry out crowd control and emergency services when needed.
- Ensure all passengers must scan their boarding passes at the turnstile reader one by one to enter.
- Defer passenger with ‘Red Check’ displayed on turnstile screen that is not on current boarding trip away from boarding queue.
- Ensure all passengers have boarded the ferry via the Pontoon Reader System.
Trip Closure
- Close ferry trip in SPOS to print Passenger Manifest for Ferry Master.
- Inform ferry agent the total number of passengers for them to process the Port Clearance.
3. Handle Passengers disembarkation
- Carry out safety check at Pontoon before disembarkation.
- Ensure Porters are at standby at pontoon to assist arriving passengers with their baggage.
- Inform ICA In-Charge & Assistant Manager when there is a surge in the arrival of Passengers.
- Ensure passengers follow safe disembarkation practice.
- Assist passengers with special needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 'Nitech' level qualification
- Candidates with no experience but wants to build a career in Terminal Port Operations, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn, are welcome to apply
- Candidates with Occupational First Aid will be an advantage’
- Perform shift 6 days workweek (AM - 7am to 3pm / PM - 3pm to 11pm)
